The residents of D.C. have proven they can look past an FBI drug bust, but apparently they draw the line at illegal campaign fundraising. Mayor Vincent Gray has denied that he had anything to do with the 2010 scheme that led to five of his top aides going to prison, but he still lost Tuesday night’s Democratic primary to D.C. Councilmember Muriel Bowser. She’ll face David Catania, an independent D.C. council member, in November. Bowser’s chances seem pretty good, since Democrats have won every election since D.C. began voting for its mayors 40 years ago.
