After a pack of birds tried unsuccessfully to take down a plane coming into LaGuardia from Chicago on Wednesday, more winged troublemakers got in the way of a US Airways flight leaving the airport for Washington, D.C. on Friday night. This time around, the birds crippled one of the aircraft’s engines, and it was forced to return to the airport shortly after takeoff. NBC New York reports that all 96 passengers safely boarded another plane and arrived in the nation’s capital just an hour later than scheduled. Everyone go ahead and add the bird attacks to the list of reasons to not like flying out of LaGuardia.
