Following yesterday’s claim that top execs forced him to stay in the closet (and demoted him for asking if he could come out), Shepard Smith wrote in an email to co-workers, “I’ve stayed with fox news because of my relationship with Roger Ailes. He’s my boss, my friend and my steadfast supporter both professionally and personally.” CNN, which had nothing to do with Gawker’s report, got dragged in anyway, because this is Fox: “Things you might read today are horseshit,” Smith added. “As phony as 24-hour breaking news on The Plane Channel. Stand down.”
