An NYPD officer running hat in hand toward a gunfight between two rival gangs in the Bronx on Saturday night took a bullet through the fabric of the cap, but somehow came away uninjured. (The Daily News has the insane photo of the wounded headgear.) A 15-year-old boy was lucky, but not as lucky, taking one in the back, yet making it to the hospital in stable condition. The officers never fired their weapons, according to the NYPD.
