Pistorius’s murder trial is set to resume now that a panel of psychiatrists from a Pretoria hospital has determined that the Olympian “did not suffer from a mental disorder or mental defect that affected his ability to distinguish between the rightful or wrongful nature of his deeds” when he shot Reeva Steenkamp through a locked bathroom door. The proceedings were paused for 30 days last month when a doctor called by the defense testified that Pistorius suffered from an anxiety disorder that could have affected his thinking at the time of the shooting, when, he claims, he believed that an intruder was in his home.
