The long holiday weekend came to a dramatic end on the Verrazano Bridge at around 1:15 this morning, when MTA police fired four shots at a 2006 Hummer after it blew through a Staten Island toll plaza. The driver soon abandoned the SUV, which is believed to have been stolen at gunpoint, and escaped on foot, while his female passenger was caught and taken into custody. Welcome back, everybody.
