There are some new details on the black-bear cub found dead in Central Park on Monday. The bear is a six-month-old, 44-pound female, and a necropsy performed by the state’s Department of Environmental Conservation determined she died from “blunt force injuries consistent with a motor vehicle collision.” Still a mystery: how the bear got into the city, whether she was killed in the park or just left there, and why people are so awful.
