The Manhattan district attorney will not press rape charges against noted civil-rights lawyer Sanford Rubenstein, who had been accused of sexual assault last October. A woman had accused Rubenstein of rape after she spent the night at his penthouse apartment following Al Sharpton’s 60th birthday party. Rubenstein, who at the time had been representing Eric Garner’s family, denied the claims, and his attorney maintained any relations were consensual. The D.A. proceeded with a months-long investigation before declining Monday to move forward with the case.
