A year ago MSNBC launched Ronan Farrow Daily with much fanfare, but on Thursday the millennial-focused daytime show was canceled along with The Reid Report. (Ronan Farrow and Joy-Ann Reid will do other projects at the network.) Thomas Roberts will fill the void from 1 to 3 p.m., and Morning Joe’s Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski will start a half-hour earlier until a new host is found for Roberts’s 5:30 a.m. show Way Too Early. The Daily Beast reports that the left-leaning network, which has been suffering from declining ratings, will revamp its prime-time lineup too. Sources say Al Sharpton will be exiled to weekends, Chris Hayes’s 8 p.m. show will be replaced by The Rachel Maddow Show, and the search is under way for a host to fill her 9 p.m. slot. Hey! We know an experienced anchor who might do better on an opinion-based show, and he’s already employed by NBC.
