An employee at Australia’s immigration department accidentally sent out the passport numbers of all 31 world leaders attending last year’s G20 summit in Brisbane. The information was sent to an organizer of the Asian Cup soccer tournament, held in Australia in January, thanks to an error caused by Microsoft Outlook’s auto-fill feature. Like most errors caused by Microsoft Outlook, the department tried to pretend it never happened by not informing the world leaders, including Presidents Barack Obama and Vladimir Putin, of the breach. Last year, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection also accidentally released the personal details of 10,000 people seeking asylum in Australia.
