Bill Clinton, who is currently traveling in Africa, did an interview with NBC News to defend the Clinton Foundation, saying his organization had never done anything “knowingly inappropriate.” He said Hillary told him, “No one has ever tried to influence me by helping you.” The former president also defended his hefty speaking fees, saying, “People like to hear me speak,” and “I gotta pay our bills.” The Washington Post ran a story questioning a Clinton donor this morning — Frank Giustra, a mogul who backed Modern Farmer, owns his own olive oil company, has donated more than $100 million to the foundation, and often gives Clinton a ride on his jet. Giustra told the Post that Clinton never helped him with business. “You have to understand something about Bill Clinton. He doesn’t care about that stuff. His eyes would glaze over,” Giustra said.
