The Secret Service detained a man who seemed to be attempting to fly a drone near the White House on Thursday. This is not the first time this has happened in 2015. Four months ago, an intelligence-agency employee somehow accidentally crashed a drone that he had been flying around his apartment on the White House lawn.
His friend described the incident to CNN last February.

CNNDuring the drone incident today, President Obama was not at the White House. He is currently at Camp David meeting with leaders from the Middle East. The White House quickly went on lockdown after the drone was sighted. No further information about the person with the drone is available yet.
Only yesterday, the Federal Aviation Administration began a public campaign reminding D.C. residents and tourists that no drones are allowed in the nation’s capital. “Anyone visiting the D.C. area should leave their drone at home,” FAA administrator Michael Huerta said. The agency is working on an app that will tell people who don’t want to be arrested whether they are allowed to fly drones at their current location.
