Mitt Romney on His Upcoming Boxing Match: ‘I’m Hoping That He Will Be Gentle With Me’

Evander Holyfield went on Fox & Friends this morning to talk about his upcoming charity boxing match with former presidential candidate and lover of sport Mitt Romney on May 15. Brian Kilmeade shared footage of Romney practicing. The former world champion charitably said, “Actually that’s good. That’s really good,” and did not laugh.

Romney, inventor of the Romney Olympics and its not-yet viral “Who can hammer the most nails into a board in two minutes” contest, told Fox News that he will “try and at least touch the guy, but I’m hoping that he will be gentle with me.”

The 68-year-old seems slightly more optimistic about his chances than in March, when he told the Salt Lake Tribune that “it will either be a very short fight, or I will be knocked unconscious.”
