Construction on Pier55 — billionaire Barry Diller’s floating park on the Hudson — won’t begin until spring of next year, but the architects released more detailed renderings of the project at a community board meeting Wednesday night. The free-floating park will stretch out into the Hudson near 14th Street and include green lawns, a performance area, winding pathways, and, apparently, park benches upon which to sit and stare wistfully off toward Jersey. Avatar parkgoers aside, here’s a glimpse of what Pier55 could look like.
