If Curt Schilling is to achieve his goal of unseating Elizabeth Warren and becoming the first United States senator with a World Series ring, he’ll have to overcome long odds. A new WBUR poll of Massachusetts shows that, in a hypothetical matchup between Warren and Schilling, 54 percent of likely voters said they’d support the former Harvard Law professor and incumbent senator, while 29 percent said they’d give their vote to the pitcher turned meme addict. Coming back from a 25-point deficit would be tough, but Schilling has experience overcoming seemingly insurmountable odds. Just ask a Yankees fan.
