On Thursday, some anonymous dummy on the internet released a clip from a video of newly minted Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez dancing on a rooftop during her college years. In the clip, AOC, sporting a Boston University shirt, reenacts some iconic dance moves from The Breakfast Club to the tune of “Lisztomania” by Phoenix. Really damning stuff. “Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is,” read the tweet from the now-deleted anonymous account. “High School video of ‘Sandy’ Ocasio-Cortez.” (The video, judging from the shirt and the skyline, was clearly filmed while she was in college, not high school.)
Anyway, the account is gone now and the leaked clip with it. (You can still watch the original in full on YouTube.) But if one delightful video wasn’t enough for you, a new Twitter account, @AOC_Dances, is here for you. In the time-honored internet tradition of laying videos over different songs — see here: Beyoncé Always on Beat — the account reimagines Ocasio-Cortez’s dance moves as performed to various other numbers. And it’s as much of a delight, if not more of a delight, than the original.
Libs … consider yourselves owned to the tune of Prince, ABBA, and OutKast.
