Captain Brett Crozier, who was fired by the Navy after warning about the danger of a COVID-19 outbreak on a U.S. aircraft carrier, received a loud ovation from sailors when he walked off the ship for the final time. Crozier did not follow chain of command and showed poor judgement when he sent a letter sounding the alarm about the outbreak on the USS Theodore Roosevelt, Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly said Friday.

But the carrier’s crew clearly still supports him.
