After Donald Trump’s second inauguration, an exultant mood prevailed among the MAGA faithful — including Elon Musk, who celebrated by seemingly invoking a different, older movement. Photographer Mark Peterson was there for New York capturing the inauguration parade and two of the many celebrity-filled celebrations around Washington on Monday night: the Starlight Ball, one of the three official inaugural balls, and the Rally4Vets Military Inaugural Ball.
