The aging Shea Stadium is home to the city's other baseball team, the Mets. Built in time for the 1964 season with four seating levels and a capacity of 55,601, Shea remains one of the National League's largest parks and, as a result, seats in the far reaches of the upper deck are especially far from the diamond. The venue itself, surrounded by several parking lots, is easily accessible by car but proximity to LaGuardia Airport makes it a decidedly noisy outdoor arena. While it has seen its fair share of memorable baseball moments�Bill Buckner's error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series�Shea also hosted the Jets until 1983, the Giants in 1975, and non-sporting events such as the Beatles' legendary 1965 concert and Pope John Paul II's historic visit in 1979. Whatever the event, VIPs can either enjoy cushioned seats and waiter service in five rows directly behind home plate or rent one of 46 luxury boxes (available for a full season or per game.) These latter suites might not compare to those of more modern stadiums but each is equipped with a private bathroom, refrigerator, two television monitors and a climate-controlled living room area. — Joe DeLessio and Nick Divito
