Stylist Edward Tricomi and colorist Joel Warren moved from their longtime 58th Street outpost into the Plaza in summer 2008, becoming the lavish hotel’s flagship salon. Architect Dominic Kozerski decked the 6,100-square-foot space with black granite floors, white chairs, and stage-like overhead spotlights. Ten massaging chairs in the shampoo area are separated from the bustle of twelve coloring and fifteen styling stations by a mirrored wall. Both founders work on-site three days a week, juggling A-listers like Jessica Alba and Kate Beckinsale with clients at their Greenwich, Hollywood, and Miami salons. Devoted regulars book appointments months in advance for Tricomi’s signature dry, layered razor cuts (which earned him the nickname �Edward Scissorhands�) and Warren’s precise, quick coloring�he’s known to flawlessly swathe a mane in foils in 30 minutes. Stylists apply products from Shu Uemura and the Warren-Tricomi line, and makeup artists at four stations offer makeovers using Paula Dorf and Susan Posnick cosmetics, along with brow-shaping and tinting. The high-traffic nail area features manicure tables stocked with an exclusive Sally Hansen for Warren-Tricomi polish and two massaging pedicure chairs with Murano glass foot bowls.
