Profile
It's difficult to be bullish or bearish about this 46-room Financial District hotel. The Wall Street Inn's initial public offering consists of an unimpressive lobby, surprisingly surly staff and tacky furnishings. The hotel makes a steady recovery once visitors notice the spacious bathroomscomplete with a telephoneand ample workstations in the guest rooms. The furnishings are comfortable, if chintzy, with beige walls and green carpeting. There are plenty of attractions to be found in the vicinity, from the New York Stock Exchange and the Bull Statue to Trinity Church and the site of the World Trade Center. While the neighborhood dries up after the suits hop on the train home, historic Stone Street (located behind the hotel) has a few good happy hour options, especially during the warmer months.
ProsPrime location for the downtown business traveler.
Cons
Remote, not-so-prime location for most other travelers. The hotel's website bills it as an atmosphere of "luxury and understated elegance"apparently, those elements are very understated.
