Spellers with a competitive edge should head to this biweekly contest that's so serious that seasonal winners eventually battle it out for an annual championship. Musician Bobby Blue and comedian Jennifer Dziura have fronted the contest since 2004 with occasional guest appearances from friends like burlesque queen The World Famous *BOB*. Broadway’s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee often acts a sponsor by bestowing tickets on the victors, which allows champions to go on to measure themselves against famous people�a habit to which even nerds aren't immune.
