Profile
Esteemed furniture dealer Alan Moss scours European and American markets in search of the dazzling 20th century chandeliers, mirrors, ceramics and sculpture that hang on every square inch of his large, lofted space. A favorite of decorators and designers, the studio carries a diverse array of lighting, ceramics, and decorative objects from the twenties, thirties, forties, and fifties; the Greek-inspired furniture designs of Robsjohn-Gibbings sit next to other mid-century modern marquee names like Dunbar. There's also plenty of glassware, like the retro, jewel-toned vases resting on shelves and intricate silver travel clocks, but the real stars here, appropriately, hang from the ceiling: Undulating, art-deco-style and baroque chandeliers and sconces glitter warm and bright in a host of colors.
ExtraIn addition to retail décor, the Alan Moss Studio provides period prop and furniture rentals to filmmakers shooting in the New York area.
