Profile
This shop’s eclectic blend of high-end furniture and antiques caters mainly to interior designers. The store’s eponymous founder was one of the first to deal Swedish furniture in the U.S., and the company now sells a diverse selection of pieces, including art, lighting, and home accents from Europe. The high-ceilinged space is packed with glossy wood tables, gilded gold mirrors, and ornate chandeliers, giving it an upscale, museumlike feel. The antiques hail primarily from the seventeenth through nineteenth centuries, including a range of neoclassical, Art Deco, Japanese, and Chinese pieces. Many of the items are exceptionally rare, from detailed screens depicting views of Paris from a hot-air balloon to a large twenties-era German chandelier priced at $152,000.
