Profile

Owners Mike Zohn and Evan Michelson scour tri-state area flea markets, auctions, and estate sales weekly to increase their outré inventory: an extensive array of taxidermy, medical apparatus, and fraternal memorabilia (think Masonic and Elk Lodge pins and badges). Items run the gamut from the slightly bizarre (a mounted Moose’s hoof) to the vaguely macabre (glass eyes, an apothecary’s set of poison/antidote bottles, empty alas). Most items are fairly reasonably priced, although more unusual finds, such as the mummified head of a Peruvian child circa 500 B.C. are for show more than sale. While the stock is dominated by bottles, beakers, books, and bric-a-brac, you’ll also find some vintage clothing that ranges from authentic Victorian capes and corsets to Edwardian navy apparel like heavy leather jackets and sailor suits.
