Profile
Sartorial junkies can get their fill of superior craftsmanship and classic styles at this cozy Soho shop that specializes in American-made menswear and a variety of vintage ephemera. Opened in November 2010 by obsessive curators and co-owners Willy Chavarria and David Ramirez, the space is homey, but certainly not kitschy. The low-lit boutique gives off a retro living room vibe, complete with antique globes, rotary telephones, wall clocks, and deep leather chairs, all of which are available for purchase. Deer antler lamps and JFK prints provide a hearty taste of American nostalgia, complemented by timeless accessories like vintage Rolexes and horn-rimmed eyeglasses. The vintage goods are seamlessly integrated into the store’s selection of new clothes and accessories: Vibram-soled footwear from Oak Street Bootmakers; denim, collared worker shirts from Klaxon Howl; and made-to-order leather moccasins from Pelkey, to name a few. Chavarria and Ramirez design and manufacture the store’s namesake brand, which includes handmade leather belts, wallets, chambray bowties, and their hot-selling leather and canvas messenger bags.
