Founded by hip-hop impresario Russell Simmons, Phat Farm's flagship Soho store is spanking clean, chic, and easy to navigate, with clothes for men, boys, and big and tall gents neatly laid out in simple displays. Perusing the sports coats, crisp shirts, oversize jerseys, sweat suits and boxes of briefs feels a little like walking through Vitals magazineeverything is accessible, but hyper-stylish. Those looking to emulate Simmons' distinctive fashion sense, which mixes street sensibility with an urban-prep cool, will have no trouble doing it here. Those looking for a potential date might be in the right place, too, since girls-only sister store Baby Phat shares part of the Farm's retail turf.
ExtraThe store may belong to Def Jam Records founder Russell Simmons, but Phat Farm's in-house DJs are allowed to play whatever music they choose, as long as the lyrics are clean and positive.
