Profile

For those shopping for the preternaturally hip urban child, Piccolini offers printed tees and onesies with images from Wu-Tang Clan to David Bowie, Keith Haring coloring books, and CDs of lullaby renditions of the Ramones and Madonna. The basics are all here, too: three-piece clothing sets; swaddles; hooded towels in flower, unicorn, and dinosaur varieties; booties; and books. There’s even an expanding in-house line, PiccoliniNYC, which re-creates "I Love NY" tees with a hot dog and twisted pretzel. The shop’s varied and imaginative selection is unencumbered by its small space thanks to the curation of owner Alexandra Zagami, whose roots to the neighborhood date back decades to her family's Savoia Bakery in Little Italy. Hours are flexible, but customer service is the priority.
