This petite vintage shop stocks a covetable array of cocktail dresses, skirts, shoes, and handbags from the sixties thought the eighties. Leelush designer Zarie Mueller and Wanderlust owner Jen Armstrong hatched the concept for the store within a store over drinks at the Dove Parlour (which Armstrong also designed and owns), and the pair set out on a series of road trips across Massachusetts, upstate New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey to hunt down dated wares. Armstrong opened the store in February 2009, decking her half of the space with sixties-era photos, vintage suitcases, and a globe. Pumps in red snakeskin, leopard print, and black patent leather from brands like Ferragamo and Stuart Weitzman line overhead shelves, and retro necklaces and feathered hairpins are displayed atop a vintage sewing machine. Though little of the apparel hails from high-end designer labels, the selection is carefully curated. Recent finds include a black-leather swing coat trimmed in white fur, an eighties tiered white cocktail dress, a neon-orange frock with demure buttons up the cuffs and a bow at the waist, and a pair of oversize blue-rhinestone earrings for $40.
