JFK's 'Jackie Robinson' of the Secret Service

Abraham Bolden was 25 years old when he joined the United States Secret Service. He became the first African-American agent assigned to White House detail when he was personally selected to the post by President John F. Kennedy in 1961. Bolden tells theGrio.com's Todd Johnson he encountered ugly episodes of racism and humiliation during his time as agent. 50 years since Kennedy's death, Bolden said he still feels the sting of his organization's failure to protect the president.
