Gina Haspel, Trump’s controversial CIA nominee, threatens to withdraw

Haspel’s nomination faces opposition in Congress, centered on her time after September 11th where she ran a secret CIA prison in Thailand. Officials tell NBC News that Haspel was prepared to step aside over concerns the confirmation battle would damage the agency and her reputation. After talking to President Trump and White House officials Haspel has decided to remain the CIA nominee.
