Eagles have to settle for a field goal
The Eagles managed to go 74 yards in nine plays, but Jalen Hurts threw incomplete to the end zone on 3rd-and-6, and Philly kicked a field goal to cut into Washington’s lead.
It’s a now a 10-6 Commanders advantage. The Eagles are 0-2 on touchdowns in the red zone so far tonight.
Commanders get three on opening drive of second half
The Commanders went 42 yards in seven plays before stalling on the edge of the red zone.
Zane Gonzalez hit a 45-yard kick to give Washington a 10-3 lead midway through the third quarter.
Commanders lead at halftime, Jalen Hurts checked for a concussion
The Commanders lead 7-3 at halftime after a sleepy first half. Neither team has been able to sustain drives consistently, and the Eagles also missed two field goals.
Philadelphia QB Jalen Hurts was being checked for a concussion by the independent neurologist before halftime, so we’ll see what happens with his status moving forward. He threw for 101 yards in the first half.
Washington QB Jayden Daniels is 8 of 13 for 83 yards. Brian Robinson Jr. has the game’s only score, a one-yard touchdown run.
Eagles finally on the board with a field goal
The Eagles went 87 yards on 15 plays, but couldn’t get into the end zone on 3rd-and-goal from the three. Tough way for the drive to end for Philly, which opted to kick a short field goal instead of going for the tie.
Jake Elliott nailed a 21-yarder and it’s now a 7-3 Commanders lead.
Commanders punt after nine plays
Austin Ekeler dropped a drag route on 3rd-and-9, ending a Commanders drive at the Eagles’ 46. Washington could’ve been sharper on that possession — Jayden Daniels missed an open receiver on a crosser one play before the Ekeler drop.
Philly is taking over on its own 10 after the punt.

Jalen Hurts threw incomplete on 3rd-and-4 and the Eagles punted after yet another three-and-out. Very slow start for the Philly offense tonight.

Commanders go three-and-out after two sacks
Jayden Daniels was sacked on both first and second down, and it was too much for the Commanders to overcome.
Washington punted on 4th-and-16 from their own 35, and the Eagles will take over on their own 26.
Eagles miss another kick
Jake Elliott missed a 51-yard kick, and the score remains 7-0 Commanders. Elliott has yet to make a field goal from over 50 yards this season.
We’re also keeping an eye on Jalen Hurts, who looked a little shaken up after a sack after an ill-fated reverse on that last drive.
