Neurosurgeons treating former Formula One champion racing driver Michael Schumacher says he remains 'in critical condition' in a hospital in Grenoble, France.

One specialist said the ski accident was 'extremely serious' and he was operated on immediately.

The German driver has been put into an artificial coma to reduce brain swelling.
