The health official who oversaw the troubled rollout of the Obamacare website, HealthCare.gov, is retiring, administration officials said Monday.

The official, Michelle Snyder, is retiring from her job as chief operating officer at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

In her role she was in charge of the agencies day-to-day activities and the allocation of resources, including budget and personnel.

Technology experts who built the website for the federal insurance exchange, HealthCare.gov, reported to her.
