Shakira and Carlos Vives's collaboration on "La Bicicleta" proved to be a winning combination Thursday night at the 17th annual Latin GRAMMY Awards at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"La Bicicleta" won both the coveted Record and Song of the Year Latin GRAMMY Awards, beating out strong contenders like Enrique Iglesias and Wisin's worldwide hit "Duele El Corazón," Andrea Bocelli's "Me Faltarás" and Laura Pausini's "Lado Derecho Del Corazón." Vives accepted both awards and performed the duo's smash hit without Shakira.
The late Juan Gabriel's latest collection of greatest hits Los Dúo 2 won two Latin GRAMMYs for Album of the Year and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.
Vocalist India won Best Salsa Album for her tribute album to Gabriel called Intensamente India Con Canciones De Juan Gabriel. Juan Gabriel's Twitter account is still active and wished the late Latin music legend a "¡felicitaciones!"

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez shared the spotlight in her first performance ever on the Latin GRAMMY stage. After they tore up the stage, Lopez presented Anthony with the honor of Person of the Year. Several acclaimed salseros paid tribute to Anthony Wednesday night in a private ceremony, and Thursday he was presented with the trophy.

Colombian reggaeton sensation J Balvin's album Energia won the Latin GRAMMY for the Best Urban Music Album. Balvin performed on stage with American rapper Pharrell, hoping to accelerate transition his fame in Latin music to American audiences.
