Kidnapped Oklahoma man forced to jump off bridge into traffic while duct-taped

Three people were arrested on several charges, including kidnapping.

An Oklahoma man was abducted and forced to jump off a bridge into traffic while he was bound with duct tape, authorities said.

The Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office was called to an area near the Deep Fork River bridge on Thursday after someone reported seeing "someone jumping into traffic," the sheriff's office said Friday on Facebook.

Deputies found that the victim was badly injured and needed immediate medical attention, the sheriff's office said. An ambulance took him to a hospital.

After speaking with witnesses, authorities arrested Sean Lunney, 31, the same day. Two other people, Brianna Nohmer, 18, and Jaysen Lawson, 21, were arrested after authorities tracked down a firearm they allege was used in the incident.

A probable cause statement for Lunney says the victim’s the ex-girlfriend told investigators that Lawson, her brother, and Lunney kidnapped the man and took him to a river to kill him.

Authorities said Lawson told investigators that Lunney took the victim to the bridge, pointed a gun at him and told him "to jump off the bridge." Lawson said he acted as a lookout, authorities said.

When the victim survived the jump, Lunney taped his mouth, hands and feet and forced him into a truck, according to the probable cause affidavit. The two men drove the victim to another section of the bridge, it says. Lunney grabbed the victim and forced him over the bridge "while still constrained," the document says. Lawson made no attempt to stop Lunney or get away from him, it says.

The court filing does not disclose how Nohmer is alleged to have been involved.

All three were charged with kidnapping, online jail records show. Lunney was also charged with aggravated assault and battery, as well as a felony firearms charge. Lunney and Nohmer are being held on $250,000 bond each.

Nohmer faces an additional charge of assault with intent to kill, jail records show, and Lawson was also charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon, attempted first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Lawson's bond was set at $300,000.

The sheriff's office said the victim had been "abducted and forced off the bridge after being bound with duct tape" but did not provide any further details.
