Television Review
Battlestar Galactica
Sci Fis latest picks up as a weekly where the mini-series remake left off in 2003, with only Edward James Olmos and Mary McDonnell remaining, plus hot bodies in tight uniforms, and tin-can walkie-talkie starships jumping back and forth in hyperspace just ahead of the killer Cylons, the revolting robots bent on destroying their human creators. Worse, some of these Cylons not only look human but, being available in multiples, can show up in several places at once. McDonnell, president by default of the civilian government after everybody ahead of her ended up dead, would rather go back to teaching English. Olmos, military commander of this Homo sap remnant, seems to be especially unlucky as a father. As if a water shortage werent dire enough, who should they find on a prison ship but Richard Hatch from the original Galactica (nota bene: not his naked namesake on Survivor)reminding us that at least the acting is better this time around.
