FEATURED
PROPERTY Along
71st Road at Queens Boulevard, the Cord Meyer Development
Company is building what will be the first new-construction
condos in Forest Hills in more than a decade. The Windsor
at Forest Hills, with a 24/7 concierge and doorman,
is a 21-story tower featuring 95 one-, two- and three-bedroom
homes ranging from 722 to 1,752 s.f.—all with nine-foot
ceilings. With just a handful of units per floor, nearly every
one of these five-star homes will have spectacular views from
the floor-to-ceiling windows. Gourmet kitchens will include
custom Bavarian beech wood cabinets, granite countertops and
stainless steel KitchenAid appliances. Baths will have Ozer
Gold marble floors, countertops and soaking tubs. Building amenities
include a lounge with an adjacent catering kitchen, a 6,000-s.f.
terrace, a 1,650-s.f. rooftop observatory, and a state-of-the-art
fitness center. Priced from $365,000 to $1.15 million, occupancy
is set for mid-September 2005. |

HOT
AMENITIES
Are we really surprised the dazzling new Trump Tower
at City Center in White Plains is getting the same
high ratings The Apprentice garners on TV? For the first time
ever, high-rise luxury condos are being built in Westchester
and they’re selling like hotcakes (nearly 50 percent of
the units sold in the first three weeks of sales to snowbirds,
empty-nesters and Manhattanites). The 35-story, 212-unit luxury
tower is a key component in Louis R. Cappelli’s
$325-million City Center. The one-, two- and three-bedroom,
multi-bath homes range in size from 1,040 to 2,600 s.f. Upper-level
units will offer views of the Manhattan skyline, Long Island
Sound, Westchester County and the Hudson Valley. The recreation
complex includes a fitness center, indoor pool, children’s
playroom and “Trump Club” (lounge, billiard and
card rooms, entertainment center with plasma-screen TVs), an
outdoor pool, tennis, paddleball courts, a sundeck—and,
of course, a full business center. As with any Trump building
it’s all in the details: custom cherry wood cabineted
kitchens with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances
and marble-floored baths. Priced from $600,000 to $1.6 million,
occupancy is set for April 2005. |

Gotham
Hall was the site for the Real Estate Board of New
York’s 2004 Deal of the Year Awards, “Night
of Gotham Gold,” on Oct. 20. For the 16th year, the
annual event recognized the city’s top brokers. The
gala also raised money and awareness for New Destiny Housing
Corporation and Urban Pathways Inc., organizations that provide
support and relief for the city’s homeless population.
