Industrial
charm meets contemporary attitude in the sleek five-story
Dunham, the newest luxury condo on Williamsburg’s fashionable
Southside. “The building’s boutique design will
captivate you at first sight,” says Highlyann Krasnow
of The Developers Group, noting the dramatic glass and metal
paneled façade. “In addition to creating elegant
streamlined interiors, the builders took a lot of time with
the public areas,” she adds, citing the curved hallways
and the sanctuary-like common terrace. Gorgeous penthouses
boast open-riser staircases and generous outdoor spaces. All
homes feature open kitchens appointed with glass, stainless
steel and wood; bathrooms are finished in ultramodern limestone.
The Southside is loaded with enough restaurants, galleries
and shops to keep you in the mix. And since this chic corner
building on South 6th Street provides parking, you can also
enjoy the luxury of zipping back and forth to the city, the
country or the beach without a second thought. From $490,000
to $1.295 million.

BROOKLYN
BY THE SEA
The
Mediterranean resort lifestyle has come to Brooklyn’s
Sheepshead Bay with the arrival of La Mer Villas at the marina,
a picturesque gated complex of 19 individual-access townhouses.
Set on a vast triangular piazza, adjacent to a collection
of moored yachts, La Mer Villas is the first development of
its kind in the area. “It’s very high-end European
in design,” says Corcoran’s Cheryl Nielsen-Saaf,
who heads up sales for the project. “We see it as the
perfect getaway for New Yorkers who don’t want the Hamptons.
And we’re also getting a lot of European interest.”
In addition to the award-winning architecture, including finely
detailed interiors with high ceilings and hardwood floors,
townhouse owners will also enjoy private terraces or roof
decks and sweeping water views - not to mention a fantastic
choice of restaurants, cafés, clubs and shops right
next-door. From $750,000 to $2.3 million.

AND LUXE
The

root in the verdant environs of Windsor Terrace, the coveted
neighborhood near Park Slope. The striking five-story building
was developed by the Brooklyn-based Basile Builders Group and
designed by Adam Naim and Sebastian Giuliano of Brooklyn’s
Bricolage Design. “The urban/suburban setting gave us
an opportunity to blend gardens, terraces and balconies with
floor-to-ceiling glass and dramatic open spaces in each apartment,”
says Rocco Basile, project manager for Basile Builders.
These 1, 2 and 3BR loft apartments offer luxury interiors with
splendid open kitchens and top-of-the-line appliances. Much
attention has been given to colors and textures of building
finishes such as dark bamboo-strand flooring and smooth toweled
concrete. The Simone even has a concierge and indoor parking.
Windsor Terrace, only nine blocks wide, is part of a flourishing
neighborhood lined with exotic cafés and restaurants.
Sales begin early this spring. From the $500,000s.

“We’re
very bullish on Brooklyn, which has more construction on a unit basis
than any other borough,” says Hal Henenson, executive director
of Prudential Douglas Elliman Development Marketing Group. “As
people get priced out of Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope and Dumbo, they’re
finding bargains in the less gentrified areas. We did a loft conversion
in Bushwick we’d never have thought of doing a few years ago,
and had a waiting list of over 600.” |
