Demi Lovato is mourning the death of her niece after her sister underwent an emergency cesarean section last month.

The singer’s younger sister, Madison De La Garza, announced on Sept. 5 that she and her boyfriend, Ryan Mitchell, were expecting their first child in October.

In a statement posted to Instagram Saturday, De La Garza, 22, shared that she had an emergency procedure at the end of September.

“On the evening of September 27th, after an emergency c-section, Ryan and I held our little girl for the first and last time,” she announced in the message. “Thank you, Xiomara, for making us parents to the most perfect angel in heaven.”

She concluded the statement, writing, “Mommy and Daddy love you sweet girl.”

De La Garza, who starred in “Desperate Housewives,” received an outpouring of support from her fans in the comments, as well as her family, including older sisters Demi and Dallas, and their mother.

“I love you so much Xiomara,” Demi Lovato wrote on the post. “An angel in every sense of the word. I’ll be your auntie forever.”

Mother Dianna De La Garza wrote in the comments, “They say when you meet your Grandchild for the first time, you feel a love that you can’t explain in words.”

“I felt that love and I will feel it til the day I die,” she added. “I love you my sweet granddaughter Xiomara. Thank you for making me a REAL ‘Grandma D.’”

Her oldest sister, Dallas Lovato, penned an emotional poem showing support for Madison De La Garza and in remembrance of her niece.

“Baby girl Xiomara, I miss you everyday. I’ll take good care of your mom, so you can fly away,” she wrote. “Watch over us and guide us and give us little signs. One day we’ll come and see you, it just might take some time.”

The poem continued, “Not a single day will pass without you in our hearts. I wish we got more time together before you had to depart.”

“So have fun in your new world, the one we cannot see,” she concluded the poem. “Because every breath I take, I’ll be taking one for z.”

Demi Lovato’s fiancé, Jordan “Jutes” Lutes, also commented on the post, writing, “I love you so much 🖤 rest easy baby angel Xiomara.”

Lovato, 32, wrote a short message on Instagram dedicated to her sibling and late niece.

“RIP to my beautiful, prefect niece Xiomara,” Lovato wrote. “I’m so grateful I got to hold you.. I’ll forever be your auntie. I love you so much @maddelagarza.”

De La Garza announced her pregnancy via Instagram in September.

In the post, she shared a photo posing with Mitchell with her baby bump on display, followed by more pictures from a party, including a snap of her mom and sisters placing their hands on her bump.

“oh ryan, how I love you,” she wrote in the caption. “thank you for making all of my dreams come true. ♥️ baby mitchell 10.24.”
