The American Society of Magazine Editors today announced the finalists for the 2018 National Magazine Awards, and New York received ten nominations, more than any other magazine or news outlet, marking the fifth year in a row that it has led the field. The work recognized by ASME spans the breadth of New York’s editorial mission, from print to digital, from gorgeous photography to agenda-setting commentary. New York was nominated for the following awards, with the winners to be announced on March 13:

- Website
- Photography
- Feature Photography for “The 43-Day Fashion Shoot,” photographs by Holly Andres
- Magazine Section for Strategist and the Culture Pages
- Single-Topic Issue for “My New York”
- Essays and Criticism for “The Uninhabitable Earth,” by David Wallace-Wells
- Columns and Commentary for three columns by Rebecca Traister, “Why the Harvey Weinstein Sexual-Harassment Allegations Didn’t Come Out Until Now,” “Your Reckoning. And Mine,” and “This Moment Isn’t (Just) About Sex. It’s Really About Work.”
- Leisure Interests for “The Encyclopedia of Vegan Food,” by Robin Raisfeld and Rob Patronite
New York has won 37 National Magazine Awards and 73 additional nominations since the 2005 awards year, more than any other magazine over this period.
