Manhunt for Bombing Suspect Ends in New Jersey Shootout

Law enforcement officers secure the area where they arrested Ahmad Khan Rahami following a shootout in Linden, New Jersey, on Sept. 19.

The search for Rahami ended after police got a call about a man sleeping in the doorway of a local bar.

Rahami is transported on a stretcher in Linden, New Jersey. 

Rahami was shot in the leg and possibly the arm but managed to shoot one police officer in the hand and another in a bulletproof vest during the 10:30 a.m. confrontation, law enforcement officials said.

The injuries sustained by Rahami, who was being treated at a local hospital, and the officers did not appear to be life-threatening, officials said.

Rahami is the man seen in surveillance footage taken Saturday night in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood, the site of an explosion that injured 29 people, a senior law enforcement official with direct knowledge of the investigation told NBC News.
