Ginsburg, a lifelong champion of women's rights and a fierce advocate for gender equality, died at the age of 87 at her home in Washington, D.C., after complications from pancreatic cancer. She was the second woman justice on the high court and served for more than 27 years.
Los Angeles

Brett Hankison was the only officer involved in the early morning raid on Taylor's Louisville apartment who was charged, but not in her death. He is accused of first-degree wanton endangerment. Det. Myles Cosgrove, the officer whose rounds killed Taylor, according to the indictment, was not charged.
Kentucky
A protester is detained following the grand jury's decision not to file charges in the killing of Breonna Taylor.
After months of demands by people across the country for police accountability, demonstrators spilled into the streets to voice their support for Taylor's memory and for her grieving family.
Washington, D.C.

Connecticut

Australia

Researchers are working to train sniffer dogs to detect Covid-19 in people. The study is part of an international research effort aimed at training dogs who could screen people for coronavirus at airports, hospitals or quarantine facilities.
Belarus

Australia
A pilot whale, one of at least 380 stranded whales that have died, is washed up in Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania's west coast on Sept. 24.
Tasmania's largest mass stranding has seen 470 whales trapped on a sandbank on the island's west coast this week. While the final rescue efforts are underway, crews are also left to remove the carcasses of 380 whales that died.
California
