The underwater search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 will be delayed again by up to two months because of bad weather in the Indian Ocean, investigators said Wednesday. The specialist scan of the ocean floor was due to have been completed in July but has been repeatedly postponed because of conditions in the remote location. More than 42,500 square miles of the designated search zone has already been completed without any trace of the Boeing 777, which disappeared on route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing in March 2014 with 239 passengers and crew on board. Just under 4,000 square miles remain to be searched. The Australian Transport Safety Bureau, which is coordinating the work, said: "Due to poor weather conditions over the Southern hemisphere winter, it is expected searching the entire ... area will be completed by around January/February 2017." The only confirmed traces of the plane have been three pieces of debris found washed up on the island country Mauritius, the French island Reunion and an island off the coast of Tanzania.
