Things That Will Sell Out: From Madewell to Uniqlo

This edition of “Don’t Dillydally” features some muted homewares, a going-fast tie-dye hoodie, and a special guest appearance from none other than Lauren Santo Domingo!

Hunter’s Shiny New Boots

Just in time for the rainy season, Hunter has released a small range of very festive iridescent, metallic rain boots. They’re also available in blue, and in a tall style.

Uniqlo x JW Andersen

Uniqlo’s new JW Andersen capsule is live, and the somewhat-directional wares are already selling out. Like these wonderful bell-bottom jeans.

And something for the fellows: A reversible hooded jacket for spring.

Bed Bath & Beyond’s New Line

Bed Bath & Beyond just launched its own (quite affordable) homewares line called Bee & Willow, and the stuff is really nice, in a kind of Rachel Ashwell, Nancy Meyers way. This duvet in particular caught our eye.

And this is a very comfortable-looking, almost Restoration Hardware–esque sofa.

Parachute’s New Rug Line

Speaking of muted, calming homewares, Parachute recently released a line of rugs. This textured wool rug is understated while making a quiet statement.

Moda Domus Potato Bowls!

And, now, a guest Don’t Dillydally entry from Strategist managing editor Maxine Builder: “It’s no secret that I love things that look like other things, but back in December, I spotted a trompe l’oeil on Harley Viera-Newton’s and Sarah Hoover’s Instagram Stories that stopped me in my tracks: a ceramic potato dish, filled with baked potato and topped with caviar and chives. A couple frantic DMs and emails later, I discovered these appetizers were being served at Lauren Santo Domingo’s holiday party. She told me in an email that she’s been collecting vintage potato bowls over the years, “slowly and often individually. I feel like a proud parent today.” But, she added, “Don’t worry, we are having them produced and will carry soon at Moda.” True to her word, three months later, these ceramic potatoes can finally be mine. Though given how well-received they were — Santo Domingo later posted her own Instagram story with the caption, “When you throw a party and the next day all anyone wants to talk about are your ceramic caviar baked potatoes” — I don’t know if they’ll be in stock for too long.”

Madewell x The New Denim Project

Madewell’s collaboration with The New Denim Project, “a sustainable design lab,” features a range of upcycled patchwork pieces, like this dreamy cocoon coat.

Polo Ralph Lauren’s Tie-Dye Capsule

The cool kids at Hypebae alerted us to the fact that Polo Ralph Lauren has created a line of tie-dye wares. Given the tie-dye “moment” we are in, it’s no surprise that there are only a few sizes left. There’s a fun sweater available too.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
