This week on “Don’t Dillydally,” we’ve uncovered plenty of new summertime essentials we’re sure will sell out: Girlfriend Collective’s toe-dip into swimwear, perfect-for-the-park canned Ghia, JW Anderson x Uniqlo’s spring collection for men and women, and much more.
Girlfriend Collective Swim
Strategist favorite Girlfriend Collective launched a swim collection. In line with the brand’s sustainability efforts, the items are made from recycled fishing nets and come in eight mix-and-match styles, such as a one-shoulder bikini top, a scoop-neck with a low back, strappy one-pieces, and low- and high-rise bottoms. This black version is just one of five colors the collection comes in — but hurry because some of the more exciting ones are already selling out.
Susan Alexandra x Yellowpop
Susan Alexandra, known for her beaded handbags and jewelry, is trying something a little different for her new collaboration with lighting company Yellowpop. She brings the same whimsy of her other designs to this collection of neon LED signs. In addition to this perfect-for-spring bouquet, there’s a more abstract piece, a “Mazel Tov!” hanging, a butterfly, and a window to choose from as well.
JW Anderson x Uniqlo
JW Anderson’s spring collection for Uniqlo features lots of linen, chambray, and stitching details. The women’s lineup is full of easy, flowy dresses like this one as well as roomy shorts and perfectly oversize shirts in a range of pleasant neutrals.
The men’s collection offers lots of the same, plus some denim, like this bucket hat featuring the stitched trim.
Disney x Kate Spade
Disney kids (and Disney adults) will love this new collaboration between Kate Spade and Minnie Mouse. The character’s face and signature red polka dots are splattered across the leather goods, and we especially like this wallet, which is the ideal size for holding cash, your vaccine card, and perhaps even a fast pass for an actual Disney theme park. If you want to go all out, there are matching purses and backpacks in the collection too.
e.l.f. x Jen Atkin
Celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin (who is also the founder of OUAI and Mane Addicts) is trying her hand at the makeup world with a limited-edition collection with e.l.f. Cosmetics. On her Instagram, Atkin said, “This one is for the makeup minimalists out there.” And she means it: There are only seven products in the collection, but you’ve got your staples covered with a nude eye-shadow palette, creamy lipsticks, and eyeliner. We’re especially intrigued by this pomade that can tame both your brows and your baby hair.
Ghia
If you missed our deal on Ghia (one of our favorite nonalcoholic spirits) during our Strategist two-day sale, you definitely don’t want to miss this. Ghia’s pleasantly bitter aperitif made with elderflower, yuzu, fig, rosemary, and ginger is now available in single-serve cans. It’s balanced with sparkling water, making it perfect for tossing in your tote for summer park hangs.
Hilton Carter x Target
If you’ve got a black thumb, stay tuned for this new Target collaboration with interior designer and plant enthusiast Hilton Carter. The line features faux plants, so you won’t have to worry about trying to keep anything alive, as well as plant accessories like an amber mister, wall-mounted planters, and terrariums. In-store, you’ll even be able to shop live plants. All the offerings are available to preview online now, but mark your calendar for May 14, when it’s available for purchase, because it’s sure to sell out.
Dims. x Dusen Dusen
Dusen Dusen brought its colorful flair to Dims.’ signature Cleo chair for this very kindercore-esque collaboration. Each part of the chair is hand-finished in a different bright color but still has Dims.’ clean lines and modern design. Fifty chairs were released on Thursday morning, which have already sold out, but you can join the waiting list to find out when the next “tranche” is available.
