6 Things That’ll Almost Definitely Sell Out: From Bala to Blundstone

For this week’s “Don’t Dillydally,” we’ve surfaced a range of things we’re sure will sell out, including Our Place’s new pan, J.Crew’s first-ever home collection, and Disney-inspired play mats.

The New York–based textile company Bolé Road has been on our radar since Gabrielle Union told us its pouches are her go-to for essentials (and the brand happens to be a favorite of New York Magazine deputy editor Alexis Swerdloff too). It recently teamed up with West Elm for this collection featuring Ethiopian-made color-blocked goods. Each piece pays homage to designer Hana Getachew’s upbringing and love of Ethiopian handwoven fabrics and interiors.

In more home goods news, J.Crew has collaborated with Liberty London, a historic British print house that hand-paints and hand-draws its designs at the company’s in-house studio in Como, Italy. J.Crew picked four of Liberty’s floral designs and incorporated them into its first-ever home collection of bedding, table linens, sleep masks, puzzles, and playing cards. Lots of items are estimated to ship after April 20 or May 15, but this set of four placemats in Blue Coral should arrive before then, just in time for your next dinner party.

Speaking of dinner parties, Our Place, which makes some of our favorite, expert-approved kitchen and dining ware, released its newest addition: a cast-iron version of its do-it-all Always pan. Crafted with black matte–enamel cast iron that doesn’t require pre-seasoning, the pan comes in six colors, including the Instagram-famous Spice. It is currently sold out, but you can sign up to receive email updates on stock availability.

Blundstone, makers of our editors’ favorite winter boots, recently updated its classic Chelsea. This new collection still features the company’s signature water-resistant leather, but with a rubber Vibram outsole, which experts have told us is the most slip-resistant material you can get. Also new to this collection, a “self-cleaning” sole with a curved heel and more flex points that easily release dirt.

On the fitness front, Bala is expanding its weighted workout gear with a new jump rope, released today. Its two half- pound weighted silicone handles are ergonomically designed for HIIT and cardio exercises. Bala calls this an adult update to a playground classic — and that, of course, comes at a distinctly grown-up price of $75.

For young Disney fans, one of our favorite kids’ play mats will soon be available in new patterns and colors inspired by classic children’s movies. Launching tomorrow, the collection includes cushiony play sets in three Pixar movie themes, including Toy Story, Monsters, Inc., and Coco. Each comes with four microsuede-covered pieces that can be rearranged into a fort, slide, couch, and more.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
