In this week’s installment of “Don’t Dillydally,” we’ve surfaced a range of things we’re sure will sell out, including a cookware collaboration with Molly Baz, tees celebrating Final Fantasy’s 35th anniversary, and Outdoor Voices’ new exercise dress.
West Elm’s latest collaboration with the Brooklyn-based gardener and author Christopher Griffin, aka Plant Kween, includes design-forward gardening tools, floral-print gardening gloves, and planters in a range of sizes and colorways. The most eye-catching of the bunch is the hunter green planter (which apparently matches the suit Plant Kween wore to their first design meeting).
To commemorate Final Fantasy’s 35th anniversary, Uniqlo released a limited-edition line of tees this week. All of the 16 shirts feature visuals from the popular video game, from retro pixelated graphics to high-definition scenes in the newer titles. Lots of shirts are already sold out, but we found a few still in stock in limited sizes, like the Final Fantasy VII design.
TOMS recently teamed up with Wildfang, an indie brand known for its menswear-inspired styling and inclusive sizing. Most of the collection features a celestial print against a navy background, but we’re taken with these monochrome slides in arcadian green. Proceeds from the collection will be donated to organizations like GirlForward, which supports girls who identify as refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers.
Alex Mill, the elevated basics brand from the folks behind Madewell, revived its collection of botanical-dyed clothing. Pieces include button-ups, pants, tees, and the popular utility-style jumpsuit (pictured). Each is colored with rainwater and plant-based materials, including indigo, chestnut, madder root, and pomegranate.
In cookware news, Great Jones released new designs of the Dutchess and the Dutch Baby, made in partnership with cook and author Molly Baz. Both are inspired by modern art, featuring geometric designs in primary colors. The limited run is only available until May 31, so be sure to order before then if you like what you see.
Our Place has launched a couple different types of “traditionware,” pegged to specific holidays, and its latest celebrates Pride. The hand-painted mug set is designed by queer Japanese Mexican ceramic artist Viviana Matsuda, and 20 percent of its proceeds (from now through the end of June) will go toward the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s Pride Pantry to alleviate food insecurity in the LGBTQ+ community.
Outdoor Voices, the maker of some of our favorite athleisure, recently expanded its collection of dresses. The brand released the Flow Circle Back Dress, made with its flexible, sweat-masking FreeForm material and featuring a circle cutout on the back. In line with its other exercise dresses, it comes with a built-in shorts liner that has pockets to hold your phone, earbuds, and keys.
A collaboration we didn’t see coming: Cool person–approved luggage brand Calpak teamed up with Taco Bell to bring us a lineup of travel essentials. The limited-edition capsule collection features four items — packing cubes, a duffel, a carry-on, and a cross-body — cheekily named after the fast-food restaurant’s sauces. The duffel and cross-body have already sold out, so don’t dillydally if you have your eye set on anything else in the collection.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
