12 Things That’ll Almost Definitely Sell Out: From Bombas to Barbour

For this week’s Don’t DillyDally we’ve surfaced a range of things we’re sure will sell out, including Very Hungry Caterpillar–inspired socks from Bombas and Eric Carle, a candle from the Met and Le Labo, and a vest from Offhours that’s perfectly timed for fall.

Offhours Overvest

Offhours is best known for their Homecoat, an ultrathick robe that former Strategist writer Karen Iorio-Adelson likened to a wearable comforter. Keeping with the cozy, blanket-like theme, the brand has released the Overvest, which is designed for outdoor wear. The puffy, knee-length vest is made from lightweight, water-resistant recycled nylon and filled with recycled polyester quilting. It comes in an olive shade called Boa and, as an homage to the robe, has toggles that can be wrapped around the waist.

Away Designer Collection

Away’s latest collaboration is with a trio of designers: Ashish, Vaquera, and Palomo Spain. Each designer has put their own spin on the brand’s carry-on (our favorite rolling luggage) and sling bag. New York–based Vaquera — known for their avant-garde collections — used roses as the main motif, applying a repeating rose pattern to the inside lining of the suitcase and a bouquet of roses on the suitcase’s shell.

Wordle The Party Game

Word game Wordle — which captured the minds and thumbs of millions for the greater half of 2022 — now has a board game. It simulates playing the game on your phone and is meant to be done with friends. Unlike the digital game, which only allows one play per day, players come up with the words themselves, so you can play as many rounds as you’d like.

Madewell x Rentrayage

Longtime Strategist favorite Madewell has teamed up with Rentrayage, a sustainable brand that makes its clothing using deadstock, vintage, and otherwise-worn fabrics. For their collaboration with Madewell, Rentrayage has repurposed remnant Madewell fabrics, creating patchwork pieces that blend denim with nylon and stripes with plaid. Items are going quickly, but this quilt and denim jacket still has its full size run available.

Eric Carle x Bombas

For the Hungry Caterpillar enthusiast, sock-maker Bombas has created a collection inspired by Eric Carle’s work. There are options for both big, small, and infant-size feet. If you’re thinking of giving these as a gift, you can buy the gift box and book set, which includes all four sock colors and a copy of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Barbour x Brompton

British brands Barbour and Brompton have come together to create a special edition of Brompton’s C Line bike, the brand’s classic, original design. We’ve written about the brand’s folding bikes before, dubbing it the best overall option on the market for the price. The Barbour version comes in a glossy amber shade and has an all-weather saddle made from natural rubber and recycled materials. In addition to the bike, the two have also made bags designed to fit on the bike, crafted from Barbour’s signature wax-cotton fabric.

The Met x Minted

From $71

In case you wanted to get a jumpstart on holiday greeting cards, Minted and the Met have released a new collection that might appeal. They’ve collaborated with artists to create cards inspired by works of art — like a 13th-century chest and a 16th-century chess game. This holiday card would work well for anyone on your list and takes cues from Severin Roesen’s Flowers and Fruit.

The Met x Le Labo

The Met has also collaborated with statusy fragrance maker Le Labo on a limited-edition candle they’ve named Laurier 62. The 62 stands for the 62 ingredients used to make the candle, which smells of laurel, rosemary, eucalyptus, and thyme. The candle label features a drawing by French impressionist artist Henri-Edmond Cross and has a burn time of up to 55 hours.

Fly by Jing Chili Crisp Vinaigrette

Fly by Jing — which makes some of our favorite chili crisp — now makes a chili-crisp vinaigrette, which expands its application from eggs, stir frys, and the like to salads, dumplings, noodles, and more (in case you weren’t doing that already). The vinaigrette is both tangy and umami thanks to ten-year-aged black vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and their signature Sichuan chili crisp.

Swedish House Mafia x IKEA

Designed in collaboration with Swedish House Mafia, IKEA recently released an all-black vinyl record player. It has a diamond stylus to ensure it doesn’t ruin your record and can easily be hooked up to a speaker with a built-in amplifier.

Our Place Diwali Fry Set

Our Place continues its Traditionware series with a fry set for Diwali, which falls on October 24 this year. It includes an intricately perforated skimmer spoon designed by Lekha, a wire cooling rack designed by Manjit Thapp, and two clay diyas — oil lamps that are lit during Diwali.

Isaac Mizrahi x Wild One

For the fashionable dog parents, Isaac Mizrahi has released a collection of dog accessories with Wild One. The designer brings his bold, punchy approach to color to the brand, punching up the usually soothing neutrals to vibrant shades of orange, pink, lavender, and blue. The ’90s color palette can be seen on almost everything, including the harness walk kit, which comes with a harness, leash, and poop-bag carrier.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
