22 Things on Sale You’ll Actually Want to Buy: From Breville to Cuup

Now that the New Year is here, many Strategist-approved brands are trying to clear out stock after the whirlwind that was the holiday season. Best Buy is hosting a massive three-day sale through Sunday night, and you’ll find a nice selection of small kitchen appliances on sale at Amazon. Urban Outfitters is offering half-off home décor, while you can find everything under the sun discounted over at Nordstrom for its half-yearly sale. Plus, Francophiles — or just fans of stripes — should know that Alex Mill and Kule are both having warehouse sales this weekend. As always, make sure to sign up for our email newsletter for even more sales coverage.

Dash makes our favorite mini waffle maker, and the heart shape is perfect for Valentine’s Day brunch (which is right around the corner).

For filtered water on the go, this bottle from Brita is just $22 and holds enough H2O to keep you hydrated through the workday or a particularly sweaty gym session.

Breville may be strong in the coffee-and-tea category, but it also makes this very well-reviewed juicer, according to thousands and thousands of Amazon customers. It’s fairly small and easy to clean, and has dual settings to juice fruits and veggies both soft and hard.

For an affordable set of makeup brushes that actually work, try this Real Techniques set. I am a fan of the setting brush after seeing that makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes uses it to flawlessly blend concealer.

Simplehuman Round Step Can
$80
$80

Our favorite step-pedal trash can from Simplehuman is 20 percent off. The slim bin was recommended to us by Sara Losonci, founder of Shelfie, for its round-shaped lid that stayed open long enough for her to dump dirt while repotting plants.

If you’ve got a kiddo who’s been less than thrilled to return to school after winter break, this adorable unicorn lunch box might help.

This dentist-designed toothbrush can be used by children age 2 and up. It has gentle bristles and an ergonomic handle, and it comes in four fun designs, all of which are on sale.

Lots of shoes from Camper are on sale at Nordstrom, but these tie-dye slippers are particularly amazing.

If you’d like some all-terrain slippers, this pair from Keen is lined with microfleece and has a memory-foam footbed.

Over at SkinStore, sale items are an extra 10 percent off with code WINTER through Monday. This set of five has a Strategist go-to for dry winter skin: the brand’s Ultra Repair Cream, which writer Tembe Denton-Hurst says is “nourishing without being too thick and doesn’t feel oily or like it’s just sitting there. It sinks right in.”

From $68

Now through January 16, bras in select colors at Cuup — one of our go-to brands for boobs big and small — are up to 60 percent off. The Plunge Bra is a favorite of former Strategist writer Chloe Anello, who wears a size 32DD. “The cups mold to your boobs and feel like you’ve barely got anything on,” she says, adding that it offers “lots of support despite how thin it feels.”

The brand’s thongs, bikinis, and high-rise briefs are also on sale. The modal thongs are a favorite of stylist Bryn Taylor, who calls the fabric “next-level in terms of aesthetics and feel.”

Home décor is up to 50 percent off at Urban Outfitters through Tuesday. There are a lot of celestial-themed items, from a moon-shaped planter to these quirky drinking glasses.

Select cold-weather accessories are 40 percent off through January 10, too. This $9 beanie is available in nine colors.

This bagel candle is just one example of the breakfast-food-shaped décor Urban has to offer. (A bagel-shaped sugar bowl and spoon rest are sale, too.)

For the deepest discounts you’ll see on Kule all year, the brand’s warehouse sale just launched last night. Don’t dillydally, though: Popular sizes are already starting to sell out.

Half-off socks fit for the Ellsworth Kelly fan.

Breton fans will also be delighted to learn that Alex Mill is having a rare sale. (You will have to sign up for its email newsletter, which is free, to access the sale.) This tee is particularly Kule-like, in case you can’t find your size at its sale.

If you don’t want to sign up for Alex Mill’s newsletter, we found several similarly priced — and just as cute — sweaters from the brand at Net-a-Porter …

and at the Outnet. These are chic enough to be work pants, but the cotton-linen blend makes them comfy.

Food52’s sale section is often fairly scant, but thankfully the New Year has brought over 200 items down in price. I’m a big fan of butter keepers, and a marble or stone make is the way to go.

We found second-generation AirPods for $30 off at Best Buy. They make a nice gift for tweens: 12-year-old Sasha told us that “they’re nicer than over-ears, because they’re not as bulky, so I can just put ’em in my pocket.”

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
